Local meat production has never been more important, but we really do need you! We need you to know how critical it is for local farms and ranches to exist. We need you to believe in what we’re doing enough to support local agriculture and to make a difference in the quality, price, value and source of the food you eat. We are asking you to invest in us so we can continue to invest in you.
That is the idea behind CSAs. Community Supported Agriculture is the direct connection between the rancher and the consumer. You are buying more than a “meat box,” you are sharing in the year’s harvest of the freshest and best meat available for you and your family. By sharing in the plenty, you’ll get a diverse variety of high quality meats each month for your table, and experience the pleasure of serving the best proteins available.
When you sign up, we will assign you to a week that has an available CSA slot.
What’s in the Box?
What do I actually get in my Monthly CSA box, and will my family use it?
Choose the CSA that’s right for your family. We offer three sizes of CSAs so you can get the right size with the right mix of meat and no waste. Too small, change sizes anytime. Too big? Pause your CSA or go down to the next size or even bi-monthly.
The Farmer’s Choice CSA box contains a healthy mix of beef, pork and chicken. Here are actual examples of monthly Farmer’s Choice CSA boxes:

We make it easy. With the SMF CSA, you don’t have to wonder what to cook this week. You’ll be stocked with many wonderful choices that vary from month to month. We let you know “What’s in the Box” at the beginning of the week, so you can add dairy, eggs and other staples to your order.

At checkout, you can choose to have your CSA delivered, pick it up from the farm on your designated Saturday of the month, or pick it up from the Downtown Farmers Market (seasonally) on your designated Saturday of the month.

There are no contracts. We hope you’ll love the selection of quality grass-fed beef, heritage pork and pastured chicken; but there are no contracts and you can cancel at any time.

Absolutely! Each week you’ll receive a “What’s in the Box?” email. You can add dairy, eggs, more ground beef or any of a wide variety of products. Just add it to the cart, and we’ll add it to your CSA.

The best proteins in the world are local.
All of our beef is grass-fed and grass-finished. Is this important? You bet it is. Read here to see some of the benefits of grass-fed and finished beef. Our pigs are fed only grains and alfalfa, our lamb is pasture raised and our hens are free range. We don’t use hormones, antibiotics or vaccines on our animals and we don’t spray pesticides on our fields. We live on the same land that the animals live on, we drink from the same aquifers and we place the same meat on the dinner table that we sell to you. So we feel like it’s important to treat you the way we want to be treated.
